Hello, hello powerful people! After last week’s restorative flow, I wanted to come back with something on the other side of the spectrum – a full body power flow! Something to get your heart rate up and your muscles tired.
This class will get you back to moving and flowing to feel STRONG.
This is specifically a POWER flow, so let yourself just do the damn thing. Let yourself sweat. Get fatigued. Sometimes being uncomfortable is exactly what you need.
I’m a big believer that how you fuel your body, is how you fuel much of your life.
Since this class is about building strength in the body, my fullest intention is that you go back out in life feeling stronger. Fuel the rest of your life with the simplicity of simply feeling strong. Say to yourself “I am strong”.
Your thoughts eventually become your actions. And your actions turn into how you live your life. So be conscious of how you’re speaking to yourself. YOU can give yourself exactly what you need.
And don’t worry if you haven’t worked out, moved, flowed, whatever in X amount of time. You can always come back. Even if you haven’t done anything in a week or six months – you can come to the mat whenever you need without feeling “sorry” for being away.
And as always, breathing deeply is especially important for power flows. When your shorten or hold your breath when poses become difficult, you’re literally starting to invite in your body’s stress response.
Come back to focusing on the breath instead of the intensity of the pose. Breathe fully through the bottom of the belly, rib cage, chest and throat. Aim for breath lengths of four to six counts – fully inhaling and fully exhaling.
