The sometimes constant grind tends to, well… grind on us. Our minds, our bodies and our emotions. It eventually wreaks havoc on us by impeding on our immune systems. We can all likely attribute our annual illnesses to stressful weeks filled with overflowing work schedules, poor diets and not taking the time to chill out.
We don’t need to deserve time for relaxation. There’s nothing that needs to be done to earn that. It’s something we should be inherently doing.
And I get it – sometimes life calls us to push and to push hard. Sometimes we’re busting our asses from the minute we wake to up to when we finally lay back down. That’s life.
It’s important to recognize those calls to action, and to know that these must be temporary. Stress is never a way to consistently live your life. Simply put – it’s toxic.

And this is where yoga can come in. Yes, there are a gazillion ways to de-stress. If yoga is your thing, then this flow is for you. We’re focusing on opening up through the heart, opening the hips and allowing the body to completely soften. Because when we’re moving 100 miles per hour, we need softness.
Softness is usually the last thing we want to do when we have a to-do list that’s a mile long. I mean, WE GOT SHIT TO DO WHY WOULD I TAKE TIME TO CHILL OUT. Wouldn’t I rather just check these things off my list?
And I hear you on this. I am often this person. I am rarely considered to be ‘soft’. But even if I remember to take the twenty minutes every now and then, it’s so worth it.
To feel calm. To feel focused. To trust that everything will get done and that it doesn’t require me to move at warp speed.
So with that my chill-needing yogis, grab your mats – come flow and de-stress!
